Free political distribution system

When the electoral system was created in the society for the operation of democracy, its makers would not have thought that a free distribution system would be needed to win the election, otherwise, they would have supported or mentioned this temptation system in their code of conduct. Today, many political parties are using the free distribution system fearlessly under the constitutional guise to fulfill their desire for power. We all know that the fulfillment of these popular political promises for free distribution is completed by the money of the public. Does this constitutional system prevalent in society today seem appropriate or is there a need for change in this system? Because the political parties after receiving power also put the burden of fulfillment of their promises on the people and by using their tax money, they implement this free system and themselves become power-oriented.

Q.19: Should there be a constitutional ban on the tempting and attractive proclamations and declarations of free public distribution of political parties?

If agree with the question what should be the changes? If you disagree then why?

On the above fact, the Supreme Court of the country has also said that all political parties should not make promises of public appeals and free distribution in their manifesto. Because such practices “shake the roots of free and fair elections”, today the system of “declaration of free distribution” for the society seems to be considered.

In the present society, Shri Arvind Kejriwal ji’s name comes at the first place for fighting corruption and he emerged as a public hero in this fight and the he has also gained power. Today in the year 2020, the society has also seen him contesting his elections under this system. Is such role of a public hero setting the right example? Or is raising questions in the mind that they are indirectly buying votes.

We have to understand this problem from the following points also:-

  1. When political parties can declare expensive practices like free distribution of tax money to win elections, why do they not declare the working of government taxes from the society? So that all citizens get relief from inflation.
  2. When the running tax rate is not decreasing due to the poor income of the government and the debt of the country and the states is increasing, then why is the extra burden of free distribution cost put on the public?
  3. Not all sections of society get the benefit of free distribution system, because many conditions apply in this system. Here the question arises why taxpayer’s money should be spent on this decision of inequality?
  4. When every citizen pays taxes directly or indirectly, he pays tax for the operation and development of the nation or state and expects the government to use his money properly, but is this free delivery skyrocketing is not a cheating with him? We have to think….we have to write….we have to change….!!

It is true that any government has the prerogative to implement social welfare measures in the society, but is this a right practice to capture power through these efforts of adopting public attractive ways of social welfare by its manifesto or other means?

It is clear in our current law that the promises made in the Election Manifesto cannot be treated as corrupt conduct under the people’s representation act, but this system shakes the root of free and fair elections to an extent. So today society has to think on this burning question that, Should there be a constitutional ban on the tempting and attractive proclamations and declarations of free public distribution of political parties?

Jai Hind… Jai Bharat…!!!
